About Sensei

Traditional Shotokan Karate Dojo. Sensei CeCe, our head instructor, was the first person in her home country in Kenya to ever recieve a black belt from the Japan Karate Association. We are enthusiastic about teaching the art of karate to beginners as well as the more advanced student. We teach in a fun, non-threatening yet traditional way to encourage our students to become better than the day before!

We enjoy working with people and helping enrich their lives by encouraging healthier living and healthier habits!

Our instructors work with children and teans in professionally in the mental health field.  The practice of Karate has always been known to help individuals with self-confidence, self-esteem and numerous other ways.  We recognized that often the best way to help people is by helping them grow healthfully both in body and mind.  Karate is our way of giving back to our community and making it a safer and healthier place for everyone.

Our instructors have over 20 years experience in karate and various other Japanese arts.

Our classes are family oriented and do not differentiate by age or skill level.  We have students in all age ranges and encourage families to practice together.  The atmosphere is friendly and laid back, we will never ask you to do more than you are capable or willing to do.

We work with students of all ages and abilities.

Look for a teacher you feel comfortable with.  One who will encourage you to be the best person you can be without pushing you so hard that you lose interest.

We will be performing on April 1, 2019 at the Phoenix Suns vs Cleveland Cavaliers game!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Contracts and extra expenses not advertised.  Some martial arts clubs will use the foot in the door technique to get you in with low fees, but somehow you find yourself paying for much more.  They will start you out with a base contract, then they will ad on large grading fees and extra class fee and so forth.

At Simba Dojo we do not use contracts and we have always kept our fees very low.  We have a small overhead, we make enough to cover our operating costs, and have very little left over.  This is because we operate as a club not as a business.  We do it for the love of karate!
