Setting Your Rates
Understand that Superprof is a platform that connects tutors and students. You have the option to upgrade to the Premium Pass at €69 per year for greater visibility, but that is by no means a requirement.
Creating your profile and receiving lesson requests is free. If you arrange lesson payments directly with your students outside the platform, Superprof does not charge a commission. If you choose to process lesson payments through Superprof, a 10% commission applies.
When setting your hourly rate, think about your experience, subject, preparation time, travel costs and the average rates charged by similar tutors in Malta.
Your location matters if you plan on delivering in-person lessons. Malta is a small island, so in-person tutoring between localities is manageable, but worth factoring into your rates. It's a good idea to check out your competition to find out how much they charge and set your rates accordingly.
