About Sabha

I'm 18 years old, and I think of myself as an introverted extrovert. I can be quite sociable and present myself accordingly in different circumstances, but I also enjoy my quiet time with a good book or show. I've been preparing for this role for a long time as I started tutoring young, by playing "Teacher, Teacher" with my younger brother in which I began to teach him his times tables. Since then, I've taught Mathematics abroad and have partaken in work experiences revolving around Teaching/tutoring formally. In December 2020, I took part in a virtual course hosted by the University of Cape Town on the inclusion of Deaf Children in the classroom environment. My responsibilities included completing assignments and readings, while conducting independent research into the importance of Deaf culture. This also sparked an interest in BSL (British Sign Language), and I can now speak it at a Foundation level. In February 2021, I arranged and hosted a Virtual webinar discussing different methods of studying and how to do so successfully. My job was to make the PowerPoints that were easy to understand while simultaneously marketing the event and encouraging attendees to arrive. In June 2021, I was a part of SpringPod's Virtual Teaching Work Experience, in which I was taken through the inner workings of the teaching profession in the UK. I completed interactive quizzes using the knowledge I gained throughout the course and was lucky enough to interact with teachers from a range of communities.

About the lesson

I virtually teach the following subjects: -> Mathematics (anywhere from basic foundations at a Key Stage 1 Level up until the GCSE Standard. As a student, I received an 8 in GCSE Mathematics and a B in the AddMaths FSMQ.) -> Sciences (primarily at a GCSE Standard, but can support with KS3 Science as well. As a student, I received a 6 in Biology, 7 in Physics and 8 in Chemistry - and I took Biology and Chemistry to A Level.) -> Geography (primarily at a GCSE Standard, but can support with KS3 as well. As a student, I received an 8 in Geography, and I took it to A Level, and am now hoping to take it further to University.) Our first session together is free of charge, as in this session I believe it important to introduce myself and allow the tutee and parent/carer, should they want to, to do the same. I'll also ask questions about what specifically you require of me as a tutor, so that I may tailor my approach to you. If you choose to take the sessions with me further, the following prices are applied: The price is £10 per hour if sessions are booked individually. However, the following bulk purchases are available: 5 hours -> £45 (hence £9 per hour) 8 hours -> £64 (hence £8 per hour) 10 hours -> £75 (hence £7.50 per hour) From here onwards, I will begin teaching content and going through exam practice with you. I'll also be sure to set manageable homework - but this will depend on the frequency of lessons.
