About Rae

Hi, I'm Rae! I'm a violinist, educator, and lifelong learner with a Master's Degree in Violin Performance from the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music, Suzuki teacher training, and more than 20 years of teaching experience.

I began playing violin at age 12 through a public school music program, and that experience shaped my belief that music should be accessible, welcoming, and adaptable to different learners. Throughout my career, I've taught students of many ages and backgrounds in private lessons, schools, community music programs, and nonprofit organizations.

As a teacher, I believe there is no single "right" way to learn. Every student brings unique strengths, interests, challenges, and goals. My role is to help each learner build confidence, develop strong fundamentals, and discover a meaningful connection to music.

When I'm not teaching or performing, I enjoy exploring the intersection of learning, creativity, and technology. I'm currently developing educational tools designed to help students build healthy and sustainable practice habits between lessons.

Whether you're a complete beginner, an adult returning to music, or a parent searching for a supportive teacher for your child, I'd be happy to help you begin or continue your musical journey.

About the lesson

Learning violin should feel supportive, engaging, and tailored to the individual—not one-size-fits-all.

I hold a Master's Degree in Violin Performance from the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music, am Suzuki-trained, and have over 20 years of teaching experience working with children, teens, adults, beginners, and returning learners. My lessons adapt to each student's goals, learning style, and pace, helping build confidence, strong technique, and a healthy relationship with music.

Whether you're picking up the violin for the first time, returning after years away, or looking for supportive instruction for your child, I strive to create a welcoming environment where curiosity and growth come before perfection.
