About Louis
I am an independent curator and founder of the online gallery Studio Chapple. I have studied History of Art at A-Level, and then as my undergraduate degree at Goldsmiths College. I am now going on to study a Masters in curating at SOAS. I have worked at several renowned institutions, including the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, Frieze art fair and Alison Jacques Gallery.

As well as working towards an in-depth understanding of the works, artists and periods set in curriculums, I like to combine that with topics and artists that are not covered at school. I specialise in contemporary art from Africa and Asia, and students often find it very interesting to place what they learn at school within a global art historical context. I always try to find out what type of art each student is personally interested in, and develop lessons that combine their own interests with the set curriculum. In addition, my experience of working at museums, galleries, art fairs and curating exhibitions allows me to offer context and industry advice to any student looking to start a career in the art world.
