About Elena

I am a native Spanish speaker, a mother of two, and a California resident with a UC doctorate in Spanish. I currently teach as a tenured professor at a community college and have many years of experience helping students succeed in learning Spanish. As I become an empty nester this year, I’m excited to start a new project (working one-on-one with motivated students.) If you’re ready to improve your Spanish, you might just be my next favorite project.

About the lesson

My lessons are engaging and based on a communicative approach that helps students actively use Spanish. I am familiar with college, high school, and elementary school curricula, so I can target exactly what students need to succeed. I focus on efficient learning, providing practical strategies and memory tricks to help you understand concepts, retain vocabulary, and build fluency quickly.
