About Emily

I graduated from Durham University in 2023 with a 1st Class Degree in Spanish and Italian. I have been privately tutoring Spanish since 2019, and in the meantime I have Au paired in Madrid, backpacked through Central and South America for 3 months, and for the past year, I have been teaching at an independent British school in Chile.

I am super passionate about Spanish as a language and Hispanic cultures and traditions, and want to share that with my students! I am very friendly and chatty, and believe the best way to learn a language is firstly to feel comfortable with your tutor. I like to focus on student-led teaching: you tell me what you'd like to focus on, and I'll follow your lead!

About the lesson

- Lessons can be anywhere from 30 minutes (i.e. for oral practice) to 90 minutes.
- Lessons are for all levels: Complete beginners, GCSE, A-level, IB (A1 - C1)
- My priority is to allow students to feel comfortable, as for me, this is the most important thing when learning a language.
- All main parts of language can be covered: grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening and oral. Once again, I will take your lead!
- I believe in making language learning fun! Music, games and films will all be brought into classes.
- All ages are welcome! I have worked with everyone: from 4-year-olds to teenagers to 70-year-olds!
