About Michael

Hi, I'm Michael, a London-based business operator, startup founder and mentor.

I've spent over a decade turning ideas into working businesses. I co-founded a consumer fintech startup and led it as CEO, building a team from scratch. I then served as COO of an AI-powered logistics startup and as Head of Operations at a performance marketing company. Earlier in my career I was a Senior Programme Manager at Amazon, where I led teams of up to 250 people and learned how great businesses scale.

I hold an MBA in Strategy & Finance from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, and I currently serve as a non-executive director. I also run my own consultancy and mentor university students each year who are starting careers in business and operations.

I started tutoring because I wish I'd had someone to explain how business works in practice when I was starting out, not only the theory. I've raised funding, hired teams, made mistakes and learned from them, and I share those real experiences with every student.

I'm patient, direct and encouraging. I'll always tell you honestly what's working and what isn't, because that's how you improve. My aim is for every student to leave each lesson more confident and with a clear next step.

Outside work, I enjoy exploring London, cooking and the occasional game of pool

About the lesson

Practical business and entrepreneurship lessons from an operator who has built and run companies.

I've spent my career building and running businesses, not only studying them. I co-founded and led a fintech startup as CEO, was COO of an AI logistics startup, and was Head of Operations at a performance marketing company. Before that I spent several years at Amazon managing teams of up to 250 people. I hold an MBA in Strategy & Finance from Rotterdam School of Management, and I mentor university students who want to work in operations every year.

How I teach
My lessons are practical and built around real cases. We use frameworks such as business model canvases, unit economics, go-to-market planning and operational scaling, then apply them straight away to your idea, your coursework or a real company. I adjust each session to your goals, so it might be a step-by-step walkthrough of a concept, a working session on your business plan, or a mock investor pitch with honest feedback.

Typical lesson
Sessions usually last 60 minutes. We open with a quick check-in on your goals, work through a topic or problem in depth, and finish with clear actions to take before we meet again. I can also offer longer sessions for business plan reviews or pitch preparation.
