Hola, mi nombre es David. Tengo un certificado y una maestría en Estudios Hispánicos y un pregrado y una maestría en antropología. Enseño español hace más de cinco años y tiempo atrás impartí clases de antropología. He trabajado con estudiantes de todas las edades en diferentes lugares de Montreal y alrededores. Hablo francés, inglés y español, y tengo conocimientos básicos de portugués e italiano. En mis clases enseño español y también diversos aspectos de la historia y la cultura de los países hispanohablantes. Escucho a mis estudiantes y me adapto fácilmente a sus intereses y a su ritmo de aprendizaje. Soy dinámico, paciente y amable. Mi objetivo: hacer que los estudiantes disfruten y practiquen el español desde el primer día en un ambiente cálido y motivante.

Bonjour, je m'appelle David. Je suis titulaire d'un certificat et d'une maîtrise en études hispaniques, ainsi que d'un baccalauréat et d'une maîtrise en anthropologie. J'enseigne l'espagnol depuis plus de cinq ans et j'ai déjà enseigné l'anthropologie. J'ai travaillé avec des étudiants de tous les âges dans différents lieux de Montréal et des environs. Je parle français, anglais et espagnol, et j'ai des notions de portugais et d'italien. Dans mes cours, j'enseigne l'espagnol ainsi que divers aspects de l'histoire et de la culture des pays hispanophones. Je suis à l'écoute de mes étudiants et je m'adapte facilement à leurs intérêts et à leur rythme d'apprentissage. Je suis dynamique, patient et bienveillant. Mon objectif: faire les étudiants aimer et pratiquer la langue espagnole dès le premier jour dans une ambiance chaleureuse et motivante.

Hi, my name is David. I hold a certificate and a master's degree in Hispanic Studies, as well as a bachelor's and master's degree in Anthropology. I have been teaching Spanish for over five years and I have previously taught anthropology. I have worked with students of all ages in various locations in and around Montreal. I speak French, English, and Spanish, and I have some knowledge of Portuguese and Italian. In my classes, I teach Spanish as well as various aspects of the history and culture of Spanish-speaking countries. I listen to my students and easily adapt to their interests and learning pace. I am dynamic, patient, and caring. My goal: make the students like and practice the Spanish language from day one in a warm and motivating atmosphere.

About the lesson

En mis cursos utilizo un enfoque comunicativo y participativo por medio del cual los estudiantes empiezan desde el primer día a practicar el español con frases simples y útiles. Propongo diferentes ejercicios de conversación (preguntas y respuestas, descripciones, frases corrientes) para que los estudiantes aprendan y progresen de acuerdo con sus intereses y con ejercicios prácticos que simulan las conversaciones de la vida real.

Dans mes cours, j'utilise une approche communicative et participative parmi lequel les étudiants commencent à pratiquer l'espagnol avec des phrases simples et utiles dès le premier jour. Je propose divers exercices de conversation (questions-réponses, descriptions, expressions courantes) pour que les étudiants puissent apprendre et progresser selon leurs centres d'intérêt, ainsi que des exercices pratiques simulant des conversations réelles.

In my courses, I use a communicative and participatory approach, where students begin practicing Spanish with simple, useful phrases from day one. I offer various conversation exercises (questions and answers, descriptions, common phrases) so that students can learn and progress according to their interests, along with practical exercises that simulate real-life conversations.

Je suis des cours d’espagnol avec David et j’ai le bonheur de constater que je progresse sur plusieurs points : fluidité verbale améliorée, compréhension orale plus rapide et plus fine (y inclus en écoutant divers accents), règles de grammaire mieux assimilées, davantage de vocabulaire (pas seulement passif). Que demander de plus? Ces progrès sont dus à l’intelligence de David; il a su reconnaître mes forces et faiblesses en espagnol. Il sait toujours sur quelle piste lancer un(e) étudiant(e) pour lui permettre de se perfectionner. Son dynamisme est communicatif et nous aide à avancer. Il est attentionné et très patient. I am taking Spanish lessons with David and am delighted to see that I am making progress in several areas: improved verbal fluency, faster and more accurate listening comprehension (including when listening to different accents), better understanding of grammar rules, and a larger vocabulary (not just passive). What more could I ask for? This progress is thanks to David's intelligence; he has been able to recognise my strengths and weaknesses in Spanish. He always knows which path to take with a student to help them improve. His enthusiasm is contagious and helps us move forward. He is attentive and very patient. I highly recommend him.
