About Rachel

As a dedicated and passionate piano tutor with over 5 years of teaching experience, I have had the privilege of guiding students of all ages and skill levels on their musical journeys. My own love for the piano began at a young age, and I pursued formal education in music, which solidified my technical skills and deepened my understanding of various musical genres. This blend of personal passion and professional training enables me to connect with my students and inspire them to explore the beauty of music.

Throughout my teaching career, I have developed a comprehensive approach that emphasizes both technical proficiency and creative expression. I believe that a strong foundation in classical music is essential for any pianist, as it teaches discipline and intricate techniques. However, I also encourage my students to venture into other genres such as jazz, soul, pop, and funk. This exposure to diverse styles not only broadens their musical horizons but also makes learning more enjoyable and fulfilling.

My teaching philosophy centers around the idea that each student is unique and requires personalized instruction to thrive. I take the time to understand the individual goals and learning styles of my students, tailoring my lessons to meet their specific needs. Whether it's preparing for a recital, mastering a challenging piece, or simply playing for personal enjoyment, I strive to make each lesson engaging and productive. I incorporate various teaching methods, including sight-reading, ear training, and improvisation, to ensure a well-rounded musical education.

Above all, I am committed to creating a supportive and motivating learning environment. I believe that encouragement and positive reinforcement are key to a student's success and confidence. My aim is to inspire a lifelong love of music in my students, helping them to not only achieve their goals but also to find joy and satisfaction in playing the piano. Through patience, dedication, and a genuine passion for teaching, I seek to make a lasting impact on my students' musical journeys.
