In this introductory class, students will familiarize themselves with essential drawing materials such as pencils, erasers, and sketchbooks. The focus will be on understanding and practicing basic shapes and lines, the fundamental building blocks of drawing. Through simple exercises, students will learn to control their pencil movements, drawing lines, circles, and squares with confidence. Understanding light and shadow is key to creating depth and dimension in drawings. This class will explore various shading techniques, including hatching, cross-hatching, stippling, and blending. Students will practice shading simple geometric shapes like spheres, cubes, and cones, learning how light interacts with different forms.
