About Andrew
I am passionate and feel that I am very proficient in explaining music theory and instruction to my students. I have a lot of experience playing a variety of different genres and styles such as blues, rock, punk,country, and pop.
I have been playing guitar for twelve years and have always had such an immense passion for teaching and playing the guitar. I really enjoy performing and being able to see how my music has a positive effect on people. I began my musical career when I was fourteen years old. I took private guitar lessons with a variety of different teachers at Old Town School of Folk Music. I also performed in a blues band and got a really good taste of gigging around the city and became very comfortable performing and improvising. These skills that I have picked up throughout my career are very valuable for a beginner to intermediate guitar player.

Initially I will begin each lesson by asking what their goals are and then assess their skills and level of experience. I will then begin to teach them the names of the guitar parts and after will teach them some basic finger exercises. As the lessons continue, I will show them some open basic chords and scales. I am also willing to teach them their song of choice and work on ear training.
