About Charles

My photography story began over 25 years ago, when my daughter was just a toddler. Like many parents, I wanted to capture the fleeting moments of her childhood—the laughter, the milestones, the memories. What started as a father’s desire to preserve time quickly grew into a lifelong passion and a professional career. Over the years, I’ve learned from both seasoned photographers and through my own trial and error. The field itself has been my greatest teacher, shaping me through hands-on experience, experimentation, and countless hours behind the camera. That blend of mentorship and self-discovery has given me not only technical skill but also the ability to adapt, problem-solve, and create with confidence. My career has taken me across many areas of photography: Portraits & Senior Portraits – highlighting personality and life milestones with authenticity. Family Photography – capturing bonds and memories to last generations. Weddings – documenting love stories with artistry and care. Model Photography – exploring style, fashion, and creativity. Videography – bringing stories to life in motion. These experiences have taught me that photography is never just about equipment or settings—it’s about people, stories, and emotion. Every click of the shutter is a chance to preserve something meaningful. Today, I bring this depth of experience into teaching. I know what it feels like to be a beginner, unsure of where to start, and I also know the growth that comes from practice and guidance. That’s why I tailor my lessons to each student’s goals—building confidence, teaching fundamentals, and unlocking creativity at every step. With over two decades behind the lens, my mission is simple: to help you grow as a photographer, discover your unique style, and gain the confidence to capture images you’re proud of.

Learn Photography Your Way: Creative Lessons Designed Just for You

If you’ve ever wanted to take photos that truly stand out, I can help you get there. My teaching style combines the essential building blocks of photography with creative techniques that make your images come alive.

We’ll start with the fundamentals—understanding how your camera works, mastering settings like shutter speed, aperture, and ISO, and building confidence behind the lens. These basics give you the tools you need to take control of your photography, no matter what kind of camera you use.

From there, we’ll explore the creative side: using light to shape mood, experimenting with backgrounds to add depth, and applying classic photography principles in fresh ways. Whether it’s capturing vibrant portraits, dramatic landscapes, or everyday moments, you’ll learn how to turn simple shots into meaningful images.

What makes my approach different is that I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all lessons. Every student brings their own perspective, goals, and style—and that’s what I build on. Together, we’ll shape lessons around your needs, giving you the freedom to grow at your own pace while discovering your unique photographic voice.

By the end of our time together, you’ll not only know how to use your camera—you’ll also know how to express yourself through your photos. My goal is simple: to help you capture images you’re proud of and inspire you to keep creating.
