About Phil
I began my musical journey at the age of six, starting with piano before transitioning to guitar at eleven. I pursued music academically throughout school and college, focusing on both instruments. I studied at the Guitar Institute / Basstech (now ICMP) in London, achieving Grade 8 certification in 1999. My musical interests are focused on experimental jazz, acoustic fingerstyle, metal, grind, & ambient music, and I bring this influence into both my playing and teaching. I've performed in a variety of locations including New York, Spain, Germany, Iceland, Austria, Italy, the Canary Islands, Poland, Slovakia, Serbia, and all over the UK. In my lessons, I focus on tailoring the experience to your individual tastes and goals, ensuring that the learning process is both relevant and engaging for you.
