About Yuli

I’m a university student who has been playing piano for over 10 years. I grew up in a household of pianists and trained from a young age under my mother, a Trinity College of Music (London) graduate, so strong classical technique has been part of my playing from the start.

I’m also an experienced tutor in math and English, and what I’m best at is adapting to each student. With young children, including those with ADHD, I keep lessons playful and hands-on so their energy goes into the music. With older students, I break down challenging pieces into manageable sections and focus on the details that take playing to the next level. Because I’m a student myself, I know how to keep practice motivating rather than a chore.

Every lesson is tailored to the student, whether they’re touching the keys for the first time or preparing a difficult piece. We work on what matters most to them, and I create personalized material and exercises for each session.

I get to know each student’s strengths, weak spots, and musical tastes, then build lessons around them. I use visual aids, games, and step-by-step demonstrations to make reading music and learning technique feel natural, and I mix classical repertoire with songs students actually want to play.

Patience is at the heart of how I teach. Every student learns at their own pace, and I make sure they feel comfortable making mistakes, because that’s how real progress happens.

Ages 5–9: note reading, rhythm, hand position, and simple pieces through fun, game-based learning
High school students: advanced technique, expression, sight-reading, and challenging repertoire
Every lesson: tailored practice goals for the week and a quick update for parents on progress

My goal is a student with solid technique, real confidence at the piano, and a lifelong love of music.
