About Christiana

I have been classically trained in piano, voice, flute, and the arts and have been teaching for over 15 years. Having competed at all 6 levels of NYSSMA, I have a first-hand person-centered approach to teaching for all levels of rigorous competition.

I love to see the sparkle in a student's eye when they accomplish a piece that they've been working hard at.

I began teaching at the urging and encouragement of my teacher, after studying under her for many years.  I started off by teaching students who were on her waiting list and then expanded to teaching at the Jimmy Osborne School of Music.



I studied under Jean-Marie C Tas from age 3 to age 17 when I then attended Southeastern University where I studied under Dr. Howard Kim (Juliard, Eastman School of Music, et. al) for 4 years.

I began teaching under Ms. Tas' direction in 2002 and slowly built my own private business at her encouragement.

About the lesson

I start with the basics (scales, arpeggios, learning to read music) and work from there (dynamics, site reading, performance, competitions.)



I teach all levels and all ages, from age 3-100+! I have worked with dedicated concert pianists and Broadway hopefuls to parents who always wanted music lessons but never had the opportuntiy before.



Try out the first lesson and see how you feel after.  Each person has a different dynamic - be clear with what your expectations are from your lessons.  Have fun with it!

The standard lesson is 30 minutes with a base price of $40.00 (pricing may differ based on travel expenses.)  Discounts for multiple lesson homes are offered as well as discounts for hour long lessons.
