About Poli

Hi! I’m Poli, and I’m excited to help you on your journey to learning Spanish. I’m a native Spanish speaker who has been passionate about languages for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Colombia, I realized how powerful language can be in connecting people, and that’s what inspired me to start teaching.

One of the things I love most about teaching is seeing my students gain confidence in their speaking skills and watching their progress.

In addition to teaching, I’m also fluent in English and Portuguese, which helps me understand the challenges of learning a new language. I know firsthand how difficult (and rewarding!) it can be, so I always aim to make my lessons fun, supportive, and suited to your personal goals.

Outside of teaching, I’m a huge fan of [mention a hobby or passion, like surfing, traveling, etc.], and I love incorporating culture into my lessons, whether it’s through music, films, or stories. My goal is to not only help you learn Spanish but to make sure you enjoy the process!

About the lesson

I use a communicative approach, focusing on real-life conversations and practical usage of the language. My lessons are highly interactive, incorporating multimedia resources like videos, music, and articles to immerse students in the Spanish language. I also tailor the lessons to the specific needs and goals of each student, whether it's improving conversational skills, preparing for an exam, or mastering grammar.

A Typical Lesson Plan:
Warm-up (5-10 min): Brief conversation to practice speaking and listening, focusing on a specific topic or theme.
Grammar and Vocabulary (20 min): Introduction of new grammar rules or vocabulary through examples and exercises.
Interactive Practice (20 min): Role-playing, dialogues, or discussions to reinforce the material learned and encourage active participation.
Homework and Review (5-10 min): I assign light homework for practice and review the key points from the lesson to ensure retention.

What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor:
As a native Spanish speaker with fluency in English and Portuguese, I understand the challenges learners face when studying a new language. My personalized teaching style adapts to the pace and learning style of each student, and my background in digital marketing also gives me a unique edge in helping students who need Spanish for business or travel purposes. I also emphasize cultural immersion, which helps students not just learn the language but understand the context in which it’s spoken.
