About Freya

My passion is music, and I am looking to bring some of my joy to others! I would love to work with people on their learning journey, within a friendly, fun, nurturing environment.

I have taken lessons with multiple teachers, including most recently in New York, where I was inspired to continue with my music education, and studied for the ABRSM diploma. I also strived to perform as much as possible, including with my school, and also as part of a string quartet (playing the cello).

I am hoping my love for classical music and my joy at connecting with people will be translated into my lessons.

My teaching is aligned to the ABRSM school. I use resources recommended by ABRSM, but also try to make the lessons fun, while encouraging the students to think about the character of the piece, and how they can represent that on the keyboard.

The lessons are aimed at either beginners or those in the early stages of learning. I would love to get students ready for ABRSM exams, while still making lessons fun and engaging!

I am qualified at grade 8, but have studied the ABRSM first diploma standard curriculum. I have taught a few young students, but am looking to take on new pupils.

I have a Steinway grand in my music room, and would love to host students there.
