About Kyra
Hi y'all! I have studied piano with an instructor since I was four, playing mostly classical pieces from the Romantic Era (although I do love some Christmas jazz!) I attended yearly studio recitals and have performed at several piano competitions in the Memphis area. My high school instructor, Mr. Jim Cornfoot, taught me how to bridge the gap between the present and past with music, and give it the vivacity it deserves. I hope to inspire the same love and joy for the art in you!

I hope to teach students not only how to translate ink on a page to notes on a keyboard, but how to truly connect with the music they make. My lessons are founded on solidifying good technique, and then building musical character. Music is meant to live and inspire, and I aim to aid students in expressing their individuality and creativity through musical performance.
My lessons are for beginners who want to build a strong foundation in classical music, including theory, technique, and the spirit of the history! I offer 30, 45, and 1 hour lessons for students in the Starkville area, and/or 30 minute virtual music-theory-only classes.
