About Jason
I am an experienced and dedicated educator with over 25 years of teaching Maths at Primary and KS3 level, alongside extensive experience in Religious Education (PRE). My practice is rooted in inclusivity, adaptive teaching, and a strong commitment to student well-being and achievement. I bring a calm, caring, and methodical approach to every classroom, underpinned by my qualifications including a BA (Hons) in Education and Politics, QTS, MCCT membership, the NPQLfM, and a Level 2 qualification in Counselling. My teaching is student-centred and focused on building resilience, responsibility, empathy, and integrity. I have effectively supported diverse cohorts, including students with SEND, SEMH needs, EAL learners, and those preparing for entrance exams. I tailor lessons using data-informed strategies, clear planning, and a deep understanding of social and emotional factors affecting learning. I believe in a holistic education that values both academic and character development. Beyond the classroom, I have a wide range of leadership and voluntary experience. I have served as the Honorary President of a Royal Air Force Air Cadet Squadron, offering mentoring and support in leadership, safeguarding, and presentation skills. I am also a Level 2 England Hockey umpire, officiating high-level regional games and building essential communication and conflict resolution skills in high-pressure environments. My background also includes time as a Level 7 football referee and youth football coach, as well as an Amateur Rowing Association Coach for U18s and university students, reflecting a lifelong commitment to youth development through sport. I actively raise awareness and funds for mental fitness charities such as Mind and Young Minds, underlining my belief in supporting mental well-being as a foundation for learning. My Level 2 Counselling qualification allows me to support students with compassion and understanding, providing a safe space for them to reflect and grow. In all my roles, safeguarding remains a top priority. I have worked closely with external agencies and internal teams to create safe, supportive, and effective environments for students and staff alike. I also contribute to staff development through coaching, mentoring, and leading CPD, empowering colleagues to deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching. I am passionate about preparing students for the complexities of modern life—both intellectually and ethically—by fostering deep thinking, self-awareness, and a love of learning. My inclusive teaching philosophy, broad co-curricular experience, and deep-rooted commitment to student success make me a valuable contributor to any educational community.

An Exceptional Tutor – Highly Recommended!
We are incredibly grateful to “Tailor made education”for the outstanding support given to our children during their transition to Key Stage 3. From the very beginning, Mr Jason Clothier created a positive, encouraging, and structured learning environment that truly helped them grow.
Jason not only reinforced their academic skills but also boosted their confidence and motivation. Thanks to this tailored approach and expert guidance, both my children not only adjusted smoothly to the KS3 curriculum but also passed their secondary school entrance exams with excellent results.
What really stood out was his ability to understand each child’s learning style and stretch their potential. Jason made learning enjoyable and productive – a rare and valuable combination.Jason is a fantastic tutor. He has been teaching our SEND child for 3 years and has been fantastic. He always knows how to get the best out of our son to the point that our son loves attending sessions. He has the ability to adapt learning styles and sessions to suit his needs on a weekly basis.
