About Anna
I don't tear apart your writing. My process is to first understand and respect what it is you are trying to accomplish, and then help you reach the next level of your writing while maintaining your unique vision and voice. I help you communicate with your readers effectively, stylistically, and beautifully.
I can read your story and point you to a list of authors that relate to your work, so you can study up what works, or if you're in the publishing stage, so you can have a list of related works to hand in with your manuscript.

My special skill is with beta reading fiction. When you show someone the first chapter of your novel, or the first pages of the short story you are working on, you are not looking for someone to say "It's good!" What you are looking for is someone who can tell you 1. what is working 2. what is not working (let's face it, no first draft is perfect), and--crucially--3. what you need to do to get it working.
Sometimes the difference between an unpublished work and a published one is one or two drafts that utilize strategic changes to get your writing where it needs to be.
