About Daniel

I am an upcoming senior at Lamar University. I have been doing percussion for about 10 years and have been playing drums since I was 5 years old. My favorite instrument is the marimba, in which I showcase a performance of at Lamar University in the video section. I have competed across numerous regional, area, and state level competitions across the high school, collegiate, and professional level. I have experience in all fields of percussion whether it be rock, jazz, world, chamber, concert, and finally marching percussion. I can also teach how to read music, and how to transcribe it. I can provide sticks and mallets, and provide a drum set as well if that is what you want to learn. I spent my 2023 summer marching with Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps, a professional world class marching art organization that competes in the DCI season. I have performed in over 20 states and have been to over 75+ high schools/middle schools across the nation thanks to the 2023 DCI TOUR. I’ve had notorious professional instructors in my life including Dr. Francisco Perez, Dr. Reese Maultsby, and Dr. Michael Cheng, all internationally known professional percussionists who I give all my thanks to! I am an active educator, performer, and student still trying to improve in all 3 categories.

About the lesson

My goal is to provide the most enjoyable learning experience for all young musicians out there. Watching the improvement of a student and enthusiasm on his/her face as they realize they are developing brings a smile to my face. I want to ensure the student receives the smoothest, most efficient experience, in a way that it becomes fun to learn percussion. Not only will you learn how to be proficient in MULTIPLE percussion instruments but you will also get some exposure to music theory, which will assist you in your learning experience greatly!
