About Ambroise

My name is Ambroise and I am 24 years old. I am a graduate engineer from INSA since November 2020. I recently started giving lessons to help a friend in difficulty in physics and chemistry (1st level). I had the return of my mother, a high school teacher, and I was able to observe for myself the difficulties that high school students may be experiencing at the moment. This is why, in part, I decide to make my contribution for the social bond and against dropping out of school.

About the lesson

My teaching method is based on exchange. From the feelings of the students but also from the gaps that I can observe, I adapt my course. I generally follow the progress of the teacher's program, bringing in details that may help for the rest of the year. I work using Discord, Online school book (easy for the student to find exercises already done if he wishes), Internet (videos and / or additional supports), Word to try to give a summary support at the end of each session, and Paint (I love the diagrams even if they are not always very beautiful ^^). Here are the 3 types of typical session: 1) Integration of the course: -When the student has obtained his course, we go over the important concepts so that he retains the essentials; -With the help of the online book, I let him answer the course questions to ensure that the previous step has been properly understood; -Depending on the time spent, exercises can be done to supplement; 2) Preparation for a DS: -Questions of lessons at the start of the session to prevent blocking points, and visualize the priority points to prepare; -Exercises adapted to needs and level; -Depending on the time of the session, I also had to prepare an equivalent assignment that I give at the start of the session and we correct it once it is finished. The pupil thus becomes better aware of what can block him. The exchange is important! 3) Correction of homework given in class -I ask the student to send me his homework then we go around it again. -These are in my opinion the most important sessions, because it allows us to take stock together on what remains to be worked on because it is good to be ready on the big day but the best is to really integrate the notions as you go to facilitate revisions during exams. I remain open to any proposal or request. In my opinion, a 2-hour session per week is generally sufficient in addition to the lessons. I am there at the same time to solidify the notions given sometimes quickly in class, to help the student to obtain a working method and to get started (I fully understand that at the moment it is harder for some ... ) ^^
