About Frankie

I am a passionate and inspired young writer located in Oran Park, and I am currently studying a Bachelor of Education (Secondary: Humanities and Social Sciences) and Bachelor of Arts with a major in English and a minor in Theatre Studies at The University of Sydney. My one goal is to provide an educational experience that is not only informative and structured but also wholesome and nurturing. Teachers and mentors can be some of the most important role models in a child's life, and in order for a child to truly reach their absolute best, having a support system that exists not just within their school, but outside of it can be the most important aspect of their learning and development.

I completed my final years of high school between 2018 & 2019, in which I had the pleasure of studying Advanced English alongside both Extension English one and two. There is nothing I love more than writing and reading, however, if there was something better, it have to be teaching it. As someone who had a teacher who listened to my ideas, and engaged with them, I have found that there is nothing more inspiring. It invigorated me and pushed me towards seeking a career in teaching, for not only did I want to continually grow as a learner, but I wanted to share the same experiences that my teacher provided for me with other students. In the same light, I was also subjected to the dramatic arts in a highly influential and life-changing way, thanks to a teacher who not only taught but also allowed experiences to shape my learning and understanding. It was in this class that lessons on self-esteem, self-worth, self-motivation and social courage were both potent and encouraging.

In both of these subjects, I learnt more about myself and my aspirations than in any other moment of my life, and this important revelation shows just how crucial a caring and nurturing educator is in the life of any child. After completing my ATAR, I was thrilled when I received a score of 85.00, ranking number one in Extension English one and two, as well as gaining a band six in Drama.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to hearing from any parent and/or caregiver worried about their child's learning and/or development. This may include writing, reading and even as far as motivating and focusing in school. There is also the case of wanting your child to strive for more, to reach above what they have already achieved. I can also provide lessons that will strengthen their already proven skills, providing more in-depth observations on what they are being taught in school. This can ignite a great passion within them, leading to thoughtful and evocative learning experiences. Whatever the case may be, I am fit to cater to whatever needs you may have.

About the lesson

My lessons will be structured, however, they will be separate from what occurs within the classroom of a school. Separating the two is crucial to creating an environment that doesn't feel like "more school", meaning that students will look forward to these lessons. I will also write weekly updates that will be available for parents and/or caregivers to read. These updates will detail what I aim to achieve with a student and how exactly I plan on attacking certain issues or even topics that they may be struggling with. I do this as a way of communicating my intentions clearly and as a way of keeping parents and/or caregivers up to date with how the student is travelling.

I am currently studying to become an educator in the subjects of English and Drama, therefore I am aiming to strengthen my abilities by involving myself as much as I can in teaching before entering the world of teaching in an actual classroom. I have had experience in teaching drama workshops in the past.

A typical hour-long lesson is appropriate for most students, however, if a student requires more, that is definitely something I can cater for.
