About Nicole
Hi, I’m Nicole—a former middle school English teacher with 13 years of classroom experience and a deep love for helping students become more confident readers. I specialize in reading comprehension, literary analysis, and helping kids find their books—the ones that actually spark interest and engagement (yes, those exist!). I know how tough it can be to feel confident as a reader, especially when the material feels confusing, boring, or just not built for how your brain works. As someone with ADHD, I get it on a personal level—and I bring that understanding into every session. My tutoring style is supportive, flexible, and totally judgment-free. Questions are encouraged, curiosity is celebrated, and each lesson is built around what works for the individual student—not what’s “standard.” If you or your child struggle to connect with reading or just needs someone who gets them and knows how to help, I’m here for it.

Here’s the thing: reading doesn’t have to suck. When you get to choose a book about something that interests you, everything changes. Whether it’s fantasy, graphic novels, or literally anything besides the same old class assignment, I help you build confidence, understand what you’re reading, and *maybe* even start to enjoy it.
We’ll break things down in a way that actually makes sense—no weird teacher talk, no pop quizzes, and no pretending you read the whole chapter when you didn’t. I’ve worked with all kinds of students, and I tailor every session to you—your brain, your pace, your vibe.
If reading feels overwhelming, boring, or like it was designed to ruin your day—trust me, I’ve got you. No pressure, no judgment—just real support (and a few books that don’t totally suck).
