About Fred
I was a partner at two large law firms in Toronto – one is a boutique litigation firm and the other is an international firm that specializes in corporate law. With my LL.M, I have also taught several courses at law school and community college. I have one quality that younger instructors do not have: experience. That counts for a lot! So I can impart knowledge that is hard to find elsewhere! I use the experience I learned before the courts and apply it to tutoring: it involves critical thinking skills and understanding what it is you are learning – and how it fits with the other parts of a course. It is the best way to learn! Join me in a wonderful learning adventure!

Do you know how important it is to have a tutor in first-year law?
Most of my students have come to me after their mid-terms: they were unhappy with their results. Reason? They did not know how to write a law school exam properly. There is a formula for doing that, and it is far better if students hire a tutor when they start their first year, rather than after the midterms, when they receive a grade that puts them behind.
I can show you how to write a law school exam by applying the formula and your words to the subjects you take.
I practiced law for over 30 years and have appeared before every level of the courts in Canada – right up to the Supreme Court of Canada.
In the meantime, I earned my LL.M. at the University of Toronto Law School in Administrative Law and started teaching a few courses at law school and community college. I loved that experience. During that time, I taught students how to think: and I did it by making complex things simple and easy to understand – which is what every good trial lawyer must do. I did that with judges and juries and I can do it with any student that I tutor.
When you are in your first year, it is difficult to know what is essential and what is not when sifting through the enormous workload. That, of course, is critical. I will help you to master time management, legal writing and research skills, and exam prep. And I can guide you through Administrative Law, civil procedure, and trial & appellate procedure in second year.
I have helped countless numbers of undergraduate students with their LSAT – a tough exam that every student needs to take to get into law school. After working with me, every single one of them has accomplished results that got them into law school. Since the LSAT is the single biggest factor for entry, I can show you how to successfully complete it! That is why students always say they "sparkle" at the end of my lessons!

Perfect! I have been taking lessons from Sir Frederick Sagel for personal injury law and civil litigation. Sir Fred has vast experience and enormous knowledge on the litigation aspect of personal injury cases. He has commendable teaching skills. He guides me on the civil procedure step by step.
