About the lesson

Hello! I'm Oscar, a dedicated and enthusiastic mathematics tutor with a Master's degree in Mathematics from Royal Holloway. With over five years of specialised tutoring experience, my goal is to build confidence and clarity, transforming challenging topics into understandable and manageable concepts. My approach is student-centred and adaptive. I begin by identifying individual strengths and knowledge gaps to create a tailored learning plan. I focus on building a strong foundational understanding before progressing to more complex problems. A typical session blends clear explanation of theory with guided practice, using past paper questions (especially for exam preparation) to apply concepts and develop effective exam technique. I encourage questions and dialogue to ensure you are following each step with confidence. My standard lesson is 60 minutes. This provides ample time to review previous work, explore new material in depth, and practise without feeling rushed. For intensive exam preparation or more complex topics, I also offer 90-minute sessions upon request. I hold a Master’s degree in Mathematics from Royal Holloway, University of London. I have been a professional private tutor for five years, helping students consistently achieve and exceed their target grades. My experience is specifically focused on the UK curriculum and examination formats. I specialise in tutoring students studying for their GCSE and A-Level exams in Mathematics (including Pure Maths, Statistics, and Mechanics for A-Level). My lessons are suitable for students across all major exam boards.
