About Martina

Hi, my name is Martina and I'm 24 years old. I'm from Spain but I'm currently traveling around the world to gain both personal and work experience. Languages and teaching are my passion, that's why I studied Translation and Interpreting and also why I've worked as a teacher since I started my degree.

I speak Spanish, Catalan and English at a native level and I'm currently studying German and French. As I said, languages are my passion, but I'm also very fond of translation. Audiovisual translation (subtitling, dubbing, video-games localization...) and literary translation (poetry, theatre, novel...) are my specialities, so if you are keen on learning any of them, I'd be more than happy to help you!

About the lesson

I have 6 years of teaching experience:

During my Translation studies, I worked part-time as a private tutor, teaching mostly English, Spanish, and Catalan, but also other subjects like Maths, Science, Arts, Music, Biology, etc. My students were all from 6 to 16 years old, so I always tried to create a calm yet lively environment through dynamic activities in order to motivate them to keep learning.

After 4 years as a private tutor, I kept working as a teacher at a Languages School, where I've worked in the past 2 years. There, my specialities were English and Spanish, but I also got to teach other subjects, such as Literacy, Catalan, or Maths. On the other hand, I had mainly 3 types of lessons:

1. Language skills for individuals or groups: reading, writing, listening, speaking. This type of lesson was mainly focused on getting official certificates.

2. Language learning through games for groups of students aged 2 to 10 years old.

3. Specialized language lessons (technical, literary, human resources, etc.).

All my students were from 2 to 60 years old (mostly teenagers) and the lessons were both on-site and online.

At present, I would love to combine this travel experience with my passion for teaching, and online private lessons are the perfect option for me.
