About Laura
I am a tutor with 5+ years of experience in classroom teaching both locally and abroad! As a current Master of Teaching student, I employ both real-world experience and the latest educational research to construct my lessons. Having graduated with Honors and Dean's List with a double major in English and Creative Writing, I am highly qualified and passionate about instructing in all areas of ELA (English Language Arts). My past work experiences include four years of teaching English as a foreign language, and two in-class practicums in TDSB (Toronto District School Board) elementary schools.

I tutor students from kindergarten to high school in all English-related subject areas. My particular passion is helping students who are struggling with literacy through a phonics and whole language orientation-based approach. I also offer lessons on essay composition and literature analysis designed to help older kids achieve straight A's in their English classes!
With four years of EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teaching experience, I also offer English lessons to students of all ages and all proficiency levels. My English lessons are game-based, flexible, creative, and fun!
