About Ashwiinee

I am a part time student with current CGPA of 3.8. I have taught Piano for around 2 years for kids from age 3 - 17 and with this amazing experience I have learned how different each student can be and pushed myself to use different materials and techniques to teach tailored for each student. I am also currently volunteering at a school for refugee children where I teach online Cambridge Primary syllabus. This experience has allowed me the opportunity to learn how to use more resources online and in conducting online classes for children. I have encouraged and used online classes as an opportunity to help children enhance their technological skills. I am also currently a part time tutor where I teach students from age 5 - 15.

About the lesson

The first few classes would be me getting to know my student where I send them worksheets (pdf) and discuss answers together. Later after determining their weak points, I'd suggest affordable books to purchase to use during my lessons. I also encourage students to bring/ show me their homework they need help with (regardless of the subject)
》Age 5-7= My general approach for children here is very close to Play-based learning. I try incorporating play into their syllabus and tailoring each classes to their interest (having them colour or do movements/actions to encourage learning math)
》Age 8-10= My method for these children is often varied between play-based learning and structured based classes. I often choose my teaching method based on the student themselves and how they respond to each style of teaching.
》Age 11 - 12 = My classes with older kids are very structured which enforces discipline and independence. I would often ask students explain what they think their weak points are in each subject and try to tackle those issues. I do occasionally insert fun learning activities as it keeps them motivated and acts as a small break from the structured environment.
》Age 13-15= As my students would be in secondary school and more mature compared to primary school students, my lessons are very much structured based. For language subjects (English & BM) I do often add creative learning where I have my students do oral presentations ( telling stories etc.) I find that these activities builds their confidence and allows me to guide them in the proper usage of language and grammar, as well as help them expand their vocabularies by suggesting more appropriate words that they may use in their oral presentations.
