About Tom
Over my teaching experience I have found that student progression needs to be a team effort between the individual and the teacher. I inspire confidence and develop independence so that the student takes more ownership and accountability for their work. It is not easy to succeed at Politics A-Level. Many young people make the mistake of choosing it as an easy subject. My approach blends fun with specific and helpful feedback. This way, students develop high level analytical skills and translate them onto paper for maximising grade potential.

Sessions are for 1 hour. We begin with a self-assessment tool I have developed over time. It helps guide the relationship between tutor and tutee and helps direct time more efficiently. Whilst the student is filling in the self-assessment tool I will be marking most recent examples of work to add my thoughts on the path forward. We target our weakest areas first in order to build confidence and maximise grade potential. Students see results very quickly.
