About Isabella

What experience do you have in education?

I have six years of experience working as a high school teacher's aide at a leading Melbourne girls’ school, as well as three years experience as a private tutor. I am passionate about learning and supporting young people in accessing the curriculum set at school, whatever level they may be at.

What is your background?

I have an undergraduate degree in English Literature and Creative Writing (University of Melbourne, University of Edinburgh), a masters degree in History (Durham University) and a postgraduate certificate in Communications (Deakin University). I am experienced in writing and delivering short courses for high school students in Creative Writing and Medieval History. I am a great lover of learning and am always looking for ways to build on my knowledge and skills. I truly understand that studying can be an uphill battle and the light at the end of the tunnel is often obscured by stress. I am passionate about using the skills I have learnt through my own studies to help young people who are facing the same concerns.

How long are your lessons?

My lessons run for 50 minutes, but a double session can be booked with a break in between. Your mind will work best with a good stretch and a quick reset!

What is your approach?

I approach all lessons with passion and my students are always made to feel comfortable. I shift my approach for each student - no two of us will learn the same way. I have extensive experience working with students who have anxiety surrounding their schoolwork. I have been very successful in helping students to reduce their stress levels, in turn allowing them to better concentrate on their work and achieve the results they are capable of.
