About Lisa

I have taught GCSE History for 13 years and A-Level for 10 years in the Uk. In addition to this, I have trained as a GCSE examiner. Understanding the expectations of the examination board, has been my most valuable tool when guiding students through the revision process. In addition to this, I have taught across a range of examination boards including OCR, Edexcel and WJEC. I am familiar with the IGCSE examination, and am able to teach using online resources. I have experience working as a private tutor for both GCSE and A-Level students in the classroom and online. I have helped many students achieve their predicted level. I have successfully implemented after school revision classes at every school I have worked at.

I am available Monday to Friday 9am-8pm UK and weekends upon request

About the lesson

As a GCSE or A-Level tutor, I would begin by getting to know you, your expectations, goals and learning style. My goal will be to check and develop your content knowledge and then apply this effectively to past paper examination questions. I will then provide specific feedback to help you improve your grade.

I have a variety of relevant examination and topic resources available, and am open to acquiring further material upon request and tutoring outside the topics areas listed below. I am happy to acquire the resources required at no extra cost to you. I am also confident covering any of the Medieval History 400-1500 topics. I myself have an Upper Second BA honours degree in Medieval History from Queen Mary, University of London.

The subject areas where I have resources available to teach immediately are as follows:

OCR A-Level and AS-Level:

England 1445-1509: Lancastrians, Yorkists
Henry VII
Britain 1930-1997 (Enquiry topic: Churchill 1930-51).
The Crusades and Crusader States 1095-1205

Edexcel and OCR GCSE Topics include:

International relations 1918-2001
20th century European History
USA 1919-1948
Power and democracy 1000-2014
War and Society 790-2010
Tudor England
Castle form and function 1000-1750

I am open to acquiring further material upon request and tutoring outside these topics areas. I am happy to acquire the resources required at no extra cost to you, I am also confident covering any of the Medieval History 400-1500 topics. I myself have an Upper Second BA honours degree in Medieval History from Queen Mary’s College, University of London.
