About Asher

Hi, I’m a guitar teacher with over 12 years of experience helping students grow into confident, skilled musicians. I hold a Diploma of Music with a specialization in Guitar, and I’m passionate about guiding learners toward their musical goals. Whether you're preparing for a live gig, a studio session, an audition, or entry into music school, I offer tailored coaching to support your success. My teaching style is both encouraging and focused. I help students develop solid technique while also building stage presence and confidence. We work on everything from tone and timing to expression and improvisation, depending on what you need. Creative freedom is important to me, so I create a space where you can explore your style while learning the essentials. I also guide students in rehearsing effectively, managing nerves, and delivering powerful performances. Each lesson is structured but flexible, built around your pace and passion. About the lesson

My teaching approach to guitar is all about building a strong foundation while keeping the learning process fun and personal. I help students start with proper ergonomic technique to avoid strain and play with ease. We work through open chords, power chords, and basic strumming patterns early on to get you playing real songs quickly.

As your skills grow, I introduce finger exercises to boost dexterity and speed, making tricky chord changes and riffs feel natural. I focus on ear training from the start, helping you recognize intervals, chords, and melodies by ear, which is a huge skill for both solo players and those in group settings.

For students interested in music theory, I break down Roman Numeral Chord Nomenclature in a way that’s easy to understand and apply. This is especially helpful for learning how songs are built and how to transpose them for live performances. I also cover fingerstyle techniques, chord embellishments, and how to create dynamic arrangements that work well for solo guitar or worship settings.
