About Lisa

I am a classically trained, professional Singer / Songwriter, and I have written and co-produced several albums and E.P's and enjoy regularly performing on the live music circuit with my own compositions. I have appeared on BBC Radio, supported many touring bands, and have performed at music festivals including YNOT and Leeds/Reading. I recently composed a piece of music for a short film which is due for release next year.
In addition to this, I have extensive Musical Theatre singing experience. My versatility as a singer enables me to teach a wide range of vocal styles and techniques.

I live and breathe music and I love teaching singing. It is wonderful when I see my students' confidence and ability growing.

About the lesson

I am a Vocal Coach, professional singer and songwriter based in Nottinghamshire. I have 21 years’ experience as a Professional singing teacher, having been the long-standing teacher at eight schools across Nottingham and Leicestershire as a peripatetic Singing Teacher, ranging in ages from key stage 1 Primary school pupils, through to degree level learners at Nottingham University. I was also the lecturer in vocals at Clarendon College Nottingham delivering lessons for their Level 3 Performing Arts Course.
In addition, I teach private lessons from my home studio where I offer bespoke one-to-one sessions for all abilities.

I am skilled at communicating with diverse learners from different age groups and abilities; teaching a variety of singing styles including Musical Theatre, Classical, Popular Music, Alternative / Folk / Blues and Rock.
I have helped successful actors, musicians and songwriters achieve results with their singing voices as well as helping pupils prepare for Singing examinations, tests, and auditions.

My teaching style is relaxed, holistic, creative, and technical. I give my all to each student and although I am friendly, I do make my students work hard to pull the very best from them!
I focus a lot on making sure a singer’s technique is healthy whilst hopefully encouraging a lifelong passion for singing. I love watching my pupils grow in both confidence and ability and helping them find their voice and sing with freedom and expression.
