About Avery
Perhaps you imagine the piano bench as a rigid place, but after 13 years of guiding students, I see it as a laboratory for nuance. Trained under a Peabody pedagogue, I uphold a standard where concert stage discipline meets the reality of the home practice room. My students navigate chord voicing and complex hand independence with the same rigor that produced 20 distinctions at Grade 8 and beyond.
Music theory and ear training are not merely side notes but the foundation of our work together. Do you feel that your current practice habits reflect the high standard of artistry you aspire to achieve?

Usually, the air in the room shifts toward focused discovery once we open the music, balancing technical Czerny etudes with repertoire that actually inspires you. Holding an MMus degree, I ensure that dynamics, expression, and precise sight transposition are woven into the fabric of every minute we spend together.
Scales and arpeggios serve as our steady equipment for tackling the demands of accompaniment skills and sight playing. We refine the way you listen to your own touch, ensuring that every phrase conveys the depth of your musical intent. This approach guarantees that you develop the structural discipline required for a lifetime of confident performance.
