About Loretta
I am a Television producer & editor with over 30 years’ experience on location and in post-production working in Sydney, London and Asia. I have TV credits in factual documentary, live outside broadcast and reality television. Have filmed stories in volatile countries, hung contestants under helicopters and interviewed the who’s who of the music industry. I spent three years in London running a large media department for a charity where I trained staff and volunteers to shoot edit and work in a multi-camera live environment.
I have a passion for communicating via moving pictures and passing on the art of storytelling.
As a child I was not a fan of school, and struggled with spelling, hated reading and once in high school spent many days sun baking on the beach. I left school at the end of year 9 and it was not until as a mature age student at University I was diagnostic dyslectic.
I have a passionate for passing on the art of storytelling and have developed a creative and simple coding system to teach children and Adults how to tell a good story.
I have also written a NESA Accredited course to help equip teachers how to integrate filmmaking into their current lesson plans.
I designed workshops to empower creativity and show teachers and students that there is so much more to creativity than knowing how to use the equipment.
"It's not about the technology or if a teacher can personally use it, it's about embracing the art forms within filmmaking and using them to enlighten students creativity, understanding and expand knowledge. The tech is just the link between generations."

Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
I have known Loretta for the past 8 years. Loretta has vast experience and expertise in film production and was a great addition to our large school holiday program where she ran a workshop for children aged 10-12 years. She has an ability to understand and connect with kids and help them grow in their creativity and technical ability. She is a very safe person to be with children and young people and a person of integrity and kindness.
I've worked with Loretta through TAFENSW, where I've had her come in to present sessions on working in TV and content creation. Loretta brings pragmatic and relatable real world experience to the classroom. She will explain concepts in a very practical way, and be armed with real world situations to make sense of them to the learner. Always a pleasure to work with it, and to learn from.
I highly recommend Loretta as your next tutor. Thanks to Loretta’s workshopping with me on my resume, I was able to land my first industry job. Loretta taught me industry standard practices, and tips to working more sustainably. Thanks to her guidance I felt confident applying for high profile roles. Loretta is a kind and supportive educator who carefully takes time to explain and work through methods with her students.
Whether you are a TV professional or a beginner in the industry, I highly recommend Loretta to teach you what you need to know to get any job you want.
Loretta is one of those rare teachers who really has DONE IT ALL in the industry and has decades of experience - she shoots, produces, writes, post produces, edits on multiple software platforms..
AND Loretta is a great patient kind and highly qualified teacher. I’m an avid editor with 30 years experience, learning premiere pro on a job - and all I can say is thank goodness for Loretta!View more recommendations
