About Lisa

I’m Lisa Liz, and I’ve spent the last 20+ years making some serious noise on the trombone!
With a BM in Music Education and an MM in Music Performance from Arizona State University (Go Devils! ), my career has been one big world tour. I’ve performed everywhere from the US and Mexico to Japan, Korea, Thailand, and Dubai.
Now, I’m bringing those global stage skills back to the lesson studio. Whether we’re mastering the basics or prepping for your own world tour, I’m here to make sure your musical journey is as high-energy and rewarding as a standing ovation!

About the lesson

With over 20 years of experience in private brass instruction, music isn't just my career—it’s been my lifelong passion. My mission is to transform that passion into progress for my students by creating an environment that is as high-energy as it is educational.

My Teaching Philosophy
I believe the best curriculum is the one that actually gets played. That’s why I take a collaborative approach: we balance the "must-have" technical foundations with the music you actually love. Whether it’s orchestral excerpts or your favorite pop hits, your interests lead the way.

What to expect in our sessions:
• Customized Learning: No two brass players are the same. I tailor my methods to fit your unique learning style and goals.
• The "Self-Teacher" Method: My ultimate goal is to work myself out of a job! I empower students to become their own best teachers by mastering the art of practice, self-analysis, and performance critique.
• Radical Positivity: Learning a brass instrument is a challenge, but it should never be a chore. I provide an encouraging, upbeat atmosphere where mistakes are just steps toward a breakthrough.

I don’t just teach you how to play notes; I teach you how to master your craft and find your own musical voice. Let’s make some noise!
