About Bruce
After graduating from Trinity College in northern Illinois, I taught English Language Arts and history at a high school in the Chicago suburbs. I moved west to and taught International Baccalaureate history in Kalispell, Montana. I did a stint in Saudi Arabia before returning to school to earn an MA in history from Ashland University. During my time teaching I did graduate level studies at Georgetown University and the University of Montana.

I love to follow my students' curiosity and go down historical "rabbit holes." Original document analysis is my forte and I find every area of history interesting and all streams lead to the present. I believe that strong personal relationships are the backbone of teaching. I am comfortable teaching levels from middle school to college. My experiences in international schools (Saudi Arabia) made me appreciate being able to teach students all over the world!
