About Meg
I have been a professor at arts colleges for 10+ years, and have worked with students from all walks of life. My main goal when working with any student of any age is to get to the core of their desire for expression (whether it's written expression, a desired research subject, or an artistic project). I can support that to the fullest and give personal 1:1 coaching. I have helped folks working on high school writing projects, college entrance essays, or academic writing from ages 12-80. The majority of my students have been high schoolers and early college students seeking to hone their writing skills. Very comfortable with ESL (English as a second language) folks as well. I also offer subject matter comprehension support in Art History and Philosophy.

I have a very conversational approach, and I want to help you get YOUR ideas out on paper in a way that effectively communicates to your chosen audience. I see this as a valuable life skill, and we approach our sessions always conversationally. I can also help with technical skills such as grammar and punctuation, which can often be a barrier to successful communication. For subject lessons, I can tailor our sessions to any particular topic of interest. For example, I have helped folks survey contemporary artists of the past 100 years, or delved into a specific topic like Surrealism in 1950s America. I am also a studio artist and can teach art skills such as papermaking, ceramic arts, black and white digital photography, and more.
