About Gabriela

Hello! My name is Gaby. I was born and raised in Lima (Peru) and I am a trained translator and interpreter, with a master's degree in Hispanic Linguistics and extensive experience teaching Spanish at different levels, both in group and private lessons. I have taught Spanish in Peru, the United States, and Canada. I love my native language and I love to teach it.

About the lesson

While my main approach to teach Spanish is based on the Communicative Language Teaching method, I adjust my teaching to my students' needs, preferences and aptitudes. I customize the contents when my students have specific purposes, and I use authentic material adapted to the appropriate level for learners to get input, and a series of activities and tasks. I provide extensive feedback and encouragement.

Perfect! I enjoyed the introductory class. I'm a little rusty, so Gabby was very helpful in easing/facilitating the conversation. I hope to get a bit smoother in my "conversas" :)

She is also very kind and always went the extra mile even coming up with exercises specifically tailored to me. I HIGHLY recommend her. Whether you're a beginner or more advanced, she'll provide you with what you need to succeed. In addition, her hours were flexible and she was able to work around my schedule. With her guidance and help, I got an A+ in my University Spanish course. Muchas gracias, Gabriela!
