  • What age did you start dancing? Tell us about this time or moment in your life.

I started dancing at my local dance school in South Yorkshire aged 8. I came from an area where dancing as a boy was very rare so I was one of the few male dancers in my area. I got hooked nonetheless and quickly one a week turned into 2 then 3 then 4 times per week! At 10-years-old I received a place a Northern Ballet School, Leeds and then onto study a dance degree aged 16 at Central Ballet School, London
  • What are your favourite dance styles; those that you practice at a high level, a simple hobby, and a style that you'd still like to discover?

Ballet is my absolute favourite as that’s what I studied for many years and it’s a perfectionist's game of constant improvement but never being perfect! You keep wanting to do more and more!
With that said, I also enjoy translating my Ballet training into other forms of dance such as Latin American, Contemporary & more. I strongly believe learning more styles creates a more rounded dancer, I’m super excited to be training as a Latin Teacher at the movement ontop of everything else!
  • What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue dance?

Even when I’m not dancing it’s all I think about, I might as well get the other things out my head and dance! I’m very lucky to have enjoyed a dancing career myself performing at some phenomenal venues for thousands of people. However, nowadays, I love sharing my experience by teaching others. The smile on dancers faces and the improvement they see over time is incredibly fulfilling.
  • Do you have a dancing achievement that you're particularly proud of?

I’m most proud of opening my own dance school, in 2021 as the UK emerged out of lockdown. It’s given me the opportunity to teach dance to hundreds of people every week which is simply incredible!
  • How have your achievements and challenges made you a better dancer?

Now that my day job is teaching dancing full-time, it’s given me the opportunity to explore new practices, styles & genres I was otherwise unable to. It’s also enabled me to gain vast amounts of experience by teaching so many classes and individuals.
  • If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose? And what questions would you ask them?

Serena Williams. Her tenacity and strength as an incredible athlete, businesswoman & individual are mindblowing.
  • How do you help people stay motivated?

Being a dance teacher isn’t just about correcting dance movements, I’m hugely passionate about “Inspiring” the love of dance in all. United students on a shared, mutual vision of success… whilst having a whole lot of fun & laughter along the way!
  • What makes you a Superprof in dance?

Did you know that becoming a qualified dance teacher takes longer than a school teacher? As a multi-qualified teacher in several dance styles, with a wealth of industry experience, I love sharing my passion for dance with others. My fun, friendly & welcoming teaching style, combined with attention to detail & top technically training means students can really expect the best when it comes to our lessons.
