About James
Hello! My name is James, I am a graduate from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. I graduated with a BSc (Honours) in Mathematics and Physics, earning a total of 10 distinctions throughout my qualification.
The journey to completing my qualification was by no means and easy one, however I came out the other end through a combination of hard-work, dedication and, most importantly, help. I received a lot of help from fellow students, teachers, and tutors alike, and at times this help was the difference between failing a course and passing it. It truly taught me what huge difference can be made by simply offering a student a different perspective. So, as I made it out with the help of others, I want to help others make it out as well.

I take a flexible approach to the lessons by adapting to the specific needs of each student. I will not bog down a non-math major student with unnecessary details which only serve to confuse them even more. Instead, I prefer to take a more to-the-point approach, immediately addressing the needs of the student based on their unique circumstances. Therefore, for non-major students (or students who do not wish to enter the fields of pure Mathematics and physics in the future), I will prioritize helping them pass the exams with their desired outcome as efficiently as possible, through worksheets, past-papers and teaching test-taking skills. For students who wish to continue with math and physics in future, I will, in addition to the above, prioritize addressing the roots of their misconceptions of the material as well, so that they don't struggle later on in their careers. I can teach fluently in English, Setswana and Zulu, and students of all levels are welcome.
