About Niva

I am a piano tutor with over 9 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Piano. Music composition and songwriting are my passions, and I love sharing that excitement with my students. My teaching style is fun, engaging, and personalized, designed to suit learners of all levels—from school and college students to adults and professionals. I focus on building strong foundations in chord theory, sight-reading, performance skills, and improvisation. I guide students through both technical mastery and creative exploration, encouraging them to develop their own musical voice. Over the years, I have helped students progress from Intermediate to Advanced levels, and I also work with those at the Professional or Expert level. Lessons are tailored to individual goals, ensuring steady progress while keeping learning enjoyable. I emphasize hands-on practice, goal-setting, and performance preparation. Students gain confidence, musicality, and the skills to express themselves fully at the piano. Whether you want to play classical pieces, jazz standards, or your own compositions, I provide the guidance and support to make it possible. My aim is to make every lesson inspiring and rewarding. Together, we will unlock your full piano potential and start an exciting musical journey.

About the lesson

My piano teaching approach focuses on steady growth, creativity, and building strong musical foundations. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s level, goals, and musical interests. I include technical exercises, scales, and arpeggios to develop finger strength, dexterity, and accuracy.

Musicality is a key focus. I teach expressive phrasing, dynamics, and tone control so students learn to communicate emotion through their playing. I encourage exploration of different genres, from classical and jazz to soul, pop, and R&B, helping students develop flexibility and adaptability. Lessons also include improvisation and composition to inspire creativity and personal expression.

I work on building student confidence through performance practice, sight-reading, and learning new repertoire step by step. Lessons combine structured practice plans with room for creative experimentation. I provide guidance, encouragement, and constructive feedback to keep students motivated.
