About Calvin
I am a wellness life coach, meditation practitioner and recovery mentor. I began practicing meditation at the age of 10 when I left Liverpool (my home city) to spend the summer holidays with my Aunt in California. I spent that summer surrounded by elder hippies and learned a lot about spiritual practices that I have been able to grow over time. Lets just say that’s when the seed planted.
As a teenager I spent a lot of time disconnected from myself due to traumas, lack of love and support, neglect, alcohol and drug misuse and a lot self hatred. I grew with the feeling of being different from others around me which contributed to my ever growing detachments from myself and the world around me. I enjoyed escaping real life and that addiction to escapism became my downfall and the making of who I am today.
Learning to accept myself took so many twists and turns, through damaging my body, loosing all respect for my mind body and soul. Trying to change myself from the outside constantly trying to fix the inside I knew my ways were no longer helping me, they were damaging me.
I had to take myself to dark a place before I could even see any light. My use of drinking and drug use became out of hand, my mental health spiralled and all notion of spiritual wellbeing was completely bankrupt. I finally surrendered and heard something inside me speak, it wasn’t a voice or words it was a feeling, a feeling of hope that I had to follow.
My healing journey, which hasn’t been straight forward ( and let me tell you not all journeys are) has landed me in a position where I am able to walk with others and hold space for you. I have found tools and ways to help quiet that voice of destruction in my mind, to accept and work through my past, with forgiveness and strength. I have learned how to show up for myself in everyday life. To love all of me, even the bits others may dislike. I have discovered the secret to life and meaning to life, Freedom and liberation of self. When we grow up we lean so much from those around us, beliefs and conditions are put on us and we go through life not even understanding, who we truly are, what we actually want, the things we like and this can be due to the limitations created all around us, the power of suggestion.
My work is intuitive and I catered to each of my clients needs, I believe in incorporating meditation and mindfulness into all my sessions. I begin all my sessions grounding one another and creating a safe space for all involved and closing the session down with a mediation to allow the session to land and close safely. My style of coaching involves talking, some movement (if needed), cacao for in person sessions. I believe cacao helps us connect more to our true feelings, away from the noise in our mind and connect more deeply with our heart. Apart from working 1:1 with clients I have worked with many groups both in rehab centres, community centres and also bringing meditation sessions to company wellbeing days. .

I cater all my session for the individual and we create what work for you. The mind can take over and become the driver in our lives and its about taking back control and connecting back to other parts of our body.
We spend so much of our time in our heads and I want to get you out of your head and back in your body in the present moment.
For those who want to find stillness in their practise, I guide clients through a body scan which helps us identify any unnecessary sensations in the body, to become aware of our body and give it the attention it needs. For those who just want to unwind after a long week at the office or just want to transition from the week into the weekend, practising meditation gives you space to shift from one being to another.
For those wanting a deeper practice we can incorporate somatic movement. This style of meditation is very beneficial to those who find sitting still challenging, movement meditation allows you to move whilst practicing being present and shifting and moving through the body at the same time.
