About Diana

As of September, I’ll be in Medical Sciences at Western and plan to get a combined BMSc and BPhil degree. I graduated high school with an average of 98 % and in grade 10, 11 and 12, I finished Spanish class with an 100 % average. I am not a native speaker but I'm the type of person who loves learning languages and all of their complicated grammar and so I know a lot more than I was ever taught by the curriculum as I went out of my way to learn it. I am constantly watching Spanish TV shows, reading articles in the language and practicing vocab as often as I can because I'm determined to master this language by next year. I would absolutely love to be able to help anyone in high school that might need help in Spanish. Or even anyone in first year as I took the Spanish Language and Culture AP exam and would be able to help.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring will be different with every student I have. I need to uncover your learning style so that I can present information in a way that has the greatest effect on YOU. Something I believe very strongly is that what we learn with pleasure, we never forget and so I intend to first develop a relationship with you before I decide what I will do. That said, no matter who I end up tutoring, I promise that I will be honest, be patient and be a good listener. I know that what is obvious or easy for me may not be so for you, and so I will learn to pick up on your cues and help you more effectively. I will never dominate the conversation and I will share my own experiences when they are needed. All that said, of course, my ultimate goal will be to help you become an independent learner and understand that perfect learners don’t exist. I will use all of my resources to make sure you not only get better marks, but actually enjoy what you are learning. I will teach you using a combination of notes and diagrams as well as videos I think might be needed. As a tutor, I will make it my mission to turn you into a mini me. That is, someone who loves asking questions. I don’t want you to ever get stuck or feel hopeless - I want you to feel comfortable asking me questions whenever you need so that you never fall down the scary rabbit hole of confusion.
