About Annette

I have been tutoring in mathematics since I started high school, and it is a very rewarding experience. I have most recently tutored during my undergraduate for linear algebra, group theory, and calculus. My approach is that there are many different kinds of people in math and many ways to understand. I am willing to explain things different ways and over again to make sure I can make the concepts approachable and understandable. I also realize that math can be scary for many who may have past trauma, and I focus on creating a safe environment where you can grow your skills and knowledge without judgement

About the lesson

- student-centered tutoring (first session used to determine student's current struggles and gaps in understanding)
- focus on goals to achieve (e.g. improvement in class grade, understanding of content/material, etc.)
- emphasis on building confidence and trying various approaches to develop individual problem-solving technique (goal: future math or related classes or problem-solving situations will become easier)
- best for students who are motivated but need/want extra help in understanding concepts
