About Jaclyn Ronel

My name is Ronel, a 29 year old Indian South African professional/ corporate female who currently resides in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Part of my job is to train new staff which is what lead to my passion of teaching, I love the English language and decided to fuse both passions of mine and look further into TEFL as advised by members of my family. I remember, 10 years ago when I completed high school…I had a student who couldn’t speak English and refused to (a 7year old boy) he was anxious and often hid away from other teachers. His parents wanted him to learn English and asked if I could assist with extra lessons, I am proud to say that this young gentleman is very much part of my inspiration to teach English and is quite my success story. We were able to broaden his vocabulary within 3 months where he was able to make friends and became sociable, within a year he was fluent as his fellow classmates where he participated in discussions and group work and his parents were absolutely thrilled.

I would like to teach young children to professional adults, my strengths are the following; grammar, spelling, vocabulary, comprehension and etiquette.

I would like to take this opportunity to add onto my TEFL certificate and gain a Teaching degree to further my ability in assisting students learn a second language (English).

I currently work in a corporate IT company which assists in teaching professionals as well.

About the lesson

My teaching methods include conversational work, I feel that it is a lot easier and less intimidating when engaging with students in a natural flow of conversation. Students need to feel comfortable as learning a new language is quite an intimidating task, visual stimulation with imagery is also a method that I incorporate in my teaching practice.
