About Saki

Hi, KONNICHIWA! My name is Saki. I am passionate about teaching Japanese and an experienced local Japanese tutor. I have worked at a State High School as a Japanese assistant teacher and been a private tutor for 6 years. My recent students achieved high marks in Japanese exams and got a place to learn more at the University of Queensland. My passion towards teaching Japanese and Japanese culture is everything. I met many locals and non-Japanese people in and outside of Australia, who are purely interested in our history, language and culture. In my early days, it was hard for me to explain and teach exactly what I wanted to tell about culture to them and felt annoyed with myself. So I decided to send myself to England and Australia to learn English and their culture first. I feel like when you are outside of your own country, you learn more about yourself and your roots! After a few years of constant learning and work experiences I finally started to teach Japanese that I became more confident and proud of my country. Learning is a long journey but it is fun because it can expand your world more and build confidence in yourself! I will make sure that you will love more Japanese and the culture through lessons with me:) While I teach Japanese online regularly, I am tirelessly working on Japanese calligraphy now too, as it is one of the most profound Japanese cultural aspects which was considered an essential way to understand classical literature and Buddhist beliefs and as a way of developing mental discipline. I'm hoping to be a master of Japanese calligraphy in the future so that I can teach as well as the language. So, if you are interested in calligraphy I have been working I can show my work too!

About the lesson

Build useful phrasal verbs, vocabularies and correct pronunciation. Preparation for exams, strengthen all aspects of Japanese language. Typical length of a lesson is 1 hour. Any level/age is welcomed. You can tell me what area you would like to focus on and situational conversation practice, eg; travel, work, etc. I use online resources, my lesson sheets, Genki book etc but if you have any materials that you would like to use for lessons with me, please feel free to tell me:) New phrases and vocabularies are always on the table and I will teach you how to build a sentence using particles, adjectives, etc in the correct order. I'm super relaxed and flexible in teaching method so you are more than welcome to tell me how you would like to improve Japanese~!
