About Ewan

Hi there! I'm a self-taught web developer from Melbourne with over a decade of experience. I currently work as a web developer at a startup in Melbourne. I have a real passion for learning about computers and enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with others. While I focus on web professionally I've been all-over; whether it's the gritty details of assembly, implementing a hectic website design or creating special effects for a video game. I'd love to hear what you are most interested in learning about!

I specialise in web development, nodejs build systems, react, svelte and css. But I'm also able to support you with rust development, python-based data science, web assembly, graphics shaders, design with Figma, game development in Unity/GameMaker and the basics of system administration.

I also love making and supporting multimedia projects like video games, simulations and procedural art. I may be able to help with learning in areas not listed above, please reach out and we can chat :) You can check out some of my own media and technical work at (concealed information)

I'm really excited to help people begin their journey or develop their skills as a programmer or web developer.

About the lesson

I'm currently gearing my teaching towards students just starting out in the world of programming and intermediate programmers who want to up-skill in web development.

In particular, if you are taking a computer science course. I can help you to practice the skills you are learning and to build good engineering principles that will help you once employed. I cannot directly assist with assignments due to academic integrity policies however I am happy to review the content from assignments and build lessons to support learning those skills.

I prefer a project-based approach with tutoring that makes use of screen sharing applications. However, I'm happy and excited to cater to whichever leaning style works best for any student. In-person lessons are available in Melbourne for an extra fee. If you live in the North of Melbourne, I'm happy to cycle and to meet you at your home or a public place, just let me know :)

I also have experience tutoring high school students in more general subjects like mathematics and science with a focus towards applying that knowledge technically through simple software engineering projects.
